Our suppliers are obligated to submit and update the data in the International Management Data System (IMDS).
The International Material Data System (IMDS) is the automobile industry’s material data system. Initially, it was a joint development of Audi, BMW, Daimler, DXC, Ford, Opel, Porsche, VW and Volvo. Other manufacturers have since joined, and IMDS has become a global standard used by almost all global OEMs. Talks are being held with additional manufacturers regarding their participation.
In IMDS, all materials used in automotive manufacturing are collected, maintained, analyzed, and archived. Using IMDS, it is possible to meet the obligations placed on automotive manufacturers and, thus, on their suppliers by national and international standards, laws and regulations.
