In production, testing is the last checkpoint before a product goes out the door. If something is wrong, this is where it must be caught. That’s why having the right test equipment matters just as much as the product itself.

Because the right equipment is critical to the quality of the final product, APAGCoSyst often develops in-house solutions rather than relying on off-the-shelf tools. A recent example is the FUT M1452, a functional tester designed specifically for the M1452 board.

Technical Specifications & Capabilities

The FUT M1452 is a standalone hardware tester integrated at the final production station. The operator places the PCB into the fixture, and the tester runs automatically. It completes a full verification cycle in 2–3 seconds, checking:

  • LED XY coordinates and intensity
  • Current consumption
  • Cable color accuracy

The interface is designed for high-volume production. Results are immediately displayed via large green/red indicators on both the monitor and the tester itself, allowing operators to make instant „Pass/Fail“ decisions without the need for data interpretation.

A New In-House Platform for Rapid Deployment

The FUT M1452 is the first unit built on our new internal test platform. Previously, developing the software for a new tester could require several weeks of engineering time.

The software was designed by Josef Pokorný, the hardware by Pavel Kolín, and the mechanical construction was handled by Jan Jelínek.

Key Improvement: With this new architecture, setup can be completed in approximately five hours, even by team members without deep programming experience.

Vertical Integration in Hardware

To reduce costs and lead times, we developed several proprietary hardware components for this system:

  • Custom IO and MUX cards
  • Integrated power supply unit

We are currently developing our own LED analyzer and evaluating a custom multimeter for future iterations. This vertical integration reduces our dependency on external vendors and keeps quality control entirely in-house.

Future-Proofing and Traceability

The FUT M1452 provides full traceability for every board tested. Because the hardware and software are modular, the core concept can be reused across different projects with only minor fixture adjustments. We are also exploring AI-based analysis of failed units to further refine our production quality.
